The Scarliner
SEMA Best of Show · Ford Best Design Award
The Build
A ground-up reimagining of the 1960 Starliner that took home the SEMA Best of Show and the Ford Best Design Award — the most decorated build to ever roll out of the shop.
Bodie built the Scarliner from a 1960 Ford Starliner to honor Ford's early-1960s factory performance push, dropping in a supercharged Ford GT-derived 5.4L V8 making 550 horsepower.
The car marries period Starliner styling with an Art Morrison MaxG chassis, 14-inch Porsche carbon-ceramic brakes, and a fully modernized interior — every system rebuilt without disturbing the factory silhouette.

Scarliner went on to win Best in Show at SEMA and Ford's own Outstanding Achievement in Design award, then made its television debut in Jay Leno's Garage.

The 1960 Ford Starliner was Ford's sleek fastback answer to the NASCAR superspeedway wars, its sloping roof designed for aerodynamic advantage on tracks like Daytona. Produced for just two model years, it has become one of the most sought-after early-60s Fords.
