Sema News

Well Sema has come and gone, but what an awesome experience!!! The Real Thing was a huge hit! We have never seen so many pictures taken of one car! The Real Thing had a crowd around it from start to finish especially when Mario Andretti showed up, sat in it, and autographed it, It was a media frenzi! To all of our fans, we apologize for making you wait so long to see it, we hope it was worth the wait! The Real Thing is a 1969 Mustang Boss 494. There was only 10 of these motors made back in 1969 by Holeman and Moody, contracted by Ford, and built for Mario Andretti's Can Am series race car. The chassis was engineered, designed, and built here at BS Industries as well as the suspension. The body has been chopped, widened, and is no longer a uni-body. Its got 14" Brembo brakes, that sits in massive 18"X15" Rushforth wheel in the back an 18"X8" in the front! Magnaflow supplied the 3" stainless steel builder kit for the exhaust, and its got Indy style electric steering by Flaming River, Optima red top battery, and K&N air filters. Ridetech supplied the car with there bad ass Titanium series shockwave with the Nitrogen filled canisters. The Motor was built by Brad and crew over at Qmp Racing, and what an awesome job they did by getting that thing together in 2 month's!! Also want to thank Coca Cola for jumping on board and supplying us with all of that Coke!! We are already in the process of building another Mustang and are taking orders! So don't wait to long or you might have to wait in line!! This car was a real challenge and was built in only 4 months and we couldn't be more proud of our crew and everybody that was involved! We especially want to thank our good friend Tom for all of his support and believing in us!!

Mario Andretti’s Can- am series BOSS 494

With only two weeks left on the Real Thing, the guys aren't getting much sleep! Everything is really coming together, the guys over at QMP did a phenomenal job on the one of twelve ever built all aluminum Boss 494! On the first hit the motor put out nearly 600 HP 600 lb torque at 5000 rpm and at the end of the day got it up to an incredible 777.5 HP 579 lb torque at 7000 rpm!! That is incredible!!! This is the biggest of the Boss motors ever built back in 1969 and 1970 and was built for Mario Andretti's Can am series. It is a 1969 Boss 494 with 2010 technology, and I bet if Mario had this motor in his Can Am car back in the day he would of smoked everybody out there!! Just about everything on the engine is custom built using all of the original part

“The Real Thing”

Only 32 days left! The guys are working around the clock to make there deadline, and the cat is out of the bag!! Bodie and gang have been building a 1969 Mustang Boss 494! That's right an all aluminum Boss 494! One of twelve ever made all aluminum Boss 494 engines built for Mario Andretti's Can Am series. In 1969 Ford contracted Holman and Moody to build 12 of these monsters that proved to be the biggest Boss engine built in that that era of racing, and for that reason the car is going to be called The Real Thing! We don't want to give away to many of the cars features and changes we made, what fun would that be! So we will leave it up to you to try and figure out all of the changes. The Real Thing will be unveiled November 2nd in Las Vegas at the 2010 Sema show. It will be located at the Magnaflow booth in the Central Hall with none other, and this is where it gets cool, the world famous Mario Andretti unveiling the car! None of this would of been possible without the help of our team and sponsors, Crown Motorsports, Magnaflow, QMP Racing, Rushforth Wheels, Race Technologies, Brembo Racing, Air Ride Technologies, and Flaming River! With the car still at paint, the chassis and misc. parts getting powder coated, waiting on the crank for the engine, and all the chrome getting done, we still have a lot of work ahead of us! Oh yea almost forgot to mention that the car is also scheduled for a photo shoot with Popular Hot Rodding on November 14th
