Lately I have been getting asked a lot of questions about the Scarliner, on such things as what transmission did we use to bolt up to the 5.4 Ford Gt motor, what did we use for electronics and what kind of braking system are we using? Well to start off, we did a lot of homework and research before we started the car, as for the transmission we used a 4R100 that is out of a Ford lightning truck. The 4R100 did bolt right up, the only modifications we had to do is find the right flywheel and cut part of the engine block out to bolt up the starter!

As for the electronics we used the Stock Ford GT wiring harness, yes it was very tricky but we did it! We reprogrammed the ECM to fit our application and remove security codes, fault codes, and any other codes like seat belts, air bags, etc., we also used the actual Ford GT gauge cluster and made it fit like it was meant to be in the original starliner dash!

The brakes are another really nice feature on the car, they are off the new Porsche GT3, they are ceramic and carbon fiber injected. Not only have we used the brakes and had to make our own custom hubs and brackets, but we have integrated the anti-locking braking system (ABS) from the Ford GT!

So as you can see the car is not just another typical Hot Rod, it has gone above and beyond that, and here at BS Industries we are trying to build a reputation for creating and building one off cars. We don’t want to be known as Hot Rod builders who build cars that can’t be driven, that is why our cars perform as good as they look……….BS
