With only two weeks left on the Real Thing, the guys aren't getting much sleep! Everything is really coming together, the guys over at QMP did a phenomenal job on the one of twelve ever built all aluminum Boss 494! On the first hit the motor put out nearly 600 HP 600 lb torque at 5000 rpm and at the end of the day got it up to an incredible 777.5 HP 579 lb torque at 7000 rpm!! That is incredible!!! This is the biggest of the Boss motors ever built back in 1969 and 1970 and was built for Mario Andretti's Can am series. It is a 1969 Boss 494 with 2010 technology, and I bet if Mario had this motor in his Can Am car back in the day he would of smoked everybody out there!! Just about everything on the engine is custom built using all of the original part
The chassis looks amazing, it was custom built right here in the shop by Bodie and the boys! All the suspension was also hand made here at the shop and with the way all of the geometry is set up it should handle like a dream even with those massive 30X18.5 Mickey Thompsons on the back wrapped around the 18X15" Rushfourth wheels! And with the 3" all polished to a mirror finish stainless steel Magnaflow Exhaust the chassis really comes to life! Another cool feature on the car is the massive 14" Brembos that have been custom fitted! Which leads us to mentioning that if anybody out there would like to install a set of Brembos on there existing Mustang II or Ford 9" and is having a hard time give us a call and we can help you bolt them right on!!
Hector and the guys over at Bill Dunn in Huntington Beach have also been working around the clock to get this thing upholstered, and are doing an excellent job! When you open up the door its like stepping into a new 2011 GT Mustang!
